The Sukhoi PAK-FA (Russian: Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Frontovoi Aviatsy, Перспективный авиационный комплекс фронтовой авиации, or “prospective (promising) Aircraft System of Front line Aviation”) is a fifth generation fighter being designed for the Russian Air Force.

As far as I am aware, no photographs or reliable specifications exist. Most art/cgi - like the stuff featured here by Aleksander Dultsev - is completely speculative, though this rendition from back in 2007 was supposedly released by the engine manufacturer.

There have been several annoucements on the readiness of the first aircraft from 2007 onwards. In February, however, the Sukhoi Bureau announced that the first prototype would be ready for August. However it appears that nothing will be present at the Moscow MAKS 2009 Air Salon, which begins on the 18th. Forums are rife with speculation, fake photographs, the economic impact, and so on - but it appears that the best place to get the news as it happens may currently be here
